Directory of Manpower Aquatic and Marine Resources R-D-E

PCAMRD believes in harnessing the full potentials of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) in governance. With the Aquatic Resources Management Information System (ARMIS) program, the council is preparing infrastructure and developing the competence to enable it to deliver information on-line.

In this regard, the PCAMRD has developed its Manpower Development System where it contains information of the NARRDS experts in the field of aquatic and marine resources. In this database, it includes the experts' personal identification (e.g. name, agency, address, destination, birthday, etc.), status of appointment (permanent, temporary, contractual, casual), educational attainment after high school (degree obtained, college/university address, year obtained, field of specialization - both major and minor fields), specialization (by ecosystem, commodity, and area of specialization), nature of work (research, instruction, extension and administration) - in percentages) and research(es) conducted/currently implemented (title, location, date started and completed).

The said database is a very useful tool in the development of Human Resources Development Plan in Aquatic and Marine RDE. With the database, it would determine the available manpower resources in aquatic and marine resources and possibly identify gaps on various fields. Moreover, users can search experts in the fields of aquatic and marine resources by specialization, commodity, or even ecosystem. Researches conducted by personnel can also be identified.

However, the manpower database developed has not been updated. Thus, efforts are now being made to update it such as the distribution of the form entitled "Manpower Engaged in Aquatic and Marine Resources RDE" with the PCAMRD five Zonal Center Coordinators for dissemination to its members. In addition, the said form is currently available at the PCAMRD website where personnel involved in the aquatic and marine resources RDE can personally include their profile or even update it.

PCAMRD hopes that experts in the fields of aquatic and marine resources to include themselves in the directory and be counted.
